Di-(N-succinimidyl) sebacate is an amine-reactive homobifunctional cross-linker. At neutral or slightly basic pH (7-9), it rapidly attacks solvent accessible lysine-NH2 groups and N-termini. It represents the longest of the 3 most used neutral N-crosslinkers.
DSSeb crosslinker (Disuccinimidyl sebacate; Sebacic acid bis[N-hydroxysuccinimide ester]) is a homobifunctional crosslinking reagent which is cell membrane permeable. DSSeb crosslinking takes place via amine-reactive NHS esters at both ends of a 10-atom (14.1 Angstrom) spacer arm. DSSeb must be dissolved in an organic solvent, such as DMSO or DMF, then added to an aqueous crosslinking reaction.
